Star Party at the Garden

Tuesday, April 22, 2025 – 8:30 pm (Weather Permitting)

The Sunshine Coast Astronomy Club is bringing its travelling star party to the Garden! Bring a chair and blanket, your own telescope or a pair of binoculars and join us on our event lawn as we gaze up at the constellations. The Astronomers will have their telescopes and monitors on hand so we can get a closer look at the sky together!

Admission is by donation, and proceeds support both the Garden and the Sunshine Coast Astronomy Club.

Give them a follow on Facebook to learn about more astronomy events and be notified when the Observatory in Wilson Creek is open to visitors. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sunshinecoastastronomy

Nature Journaling with Meghan Walley

Saturday, May 17, 2025 – 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm

It’s proven that spending time in nature to observe the small intricacies of life unfolding all around us has many benefits. We are compelled to slow down, and with each intentional, deep breath, we regulate our nervous system. It’s here where we can take notice of the little creatures and plants that surround us and we can begin to develop a connection with biodiversity. As we cultivate this new relationship with the land and have gratitude for what it provides us, we better  understand our place and role in caring for it.

Join us at the Garden for an afternoon workshop with local artist, ecologist, and archaelogist, Meghan Walley to learn how you can develop this practice for yourself. Materials are provided, and the journal is yours to take home. Your one-year membership to the Garden will allow you to return as often as you like to observe the life-cycle of your chosen plants. Your membership also includes discounts to local plant nurseries, and The Painted Lady Art Supplies in Gibsons to help you continue your artistic journey with nature.

Tickets: $75
